M Type Elevator Bucket Overview

M type elevator bucket is a medium-depth bucket positioned between DS (deep bottom) and DQ (shallow bottom) buckets. It is designed to provide flexible conveying performance under different operating conditions, especially in systems with varying elevator speeds.

In terms of structure, the M bucket represents an intermediate design based on the C dimension, balancing capacity and discharge behavior.

Why Design M Type Elevator Bucket

Bucket elevators operate at different linear speeds depending on system design. DS buckets rely mainly on gravity discharge, which requires relatively lower running speeds. In contrast, DQ buckets use centrifugal discharge, which requires higher speeds to generate sufficient centrifugal force.

M type elevator buckets are designed to bridge this gap, allowing effective operation across both low-speed and high-speed systems.

Product Features

The M type bucket combines the advantages of both deep and shallow bucket designs, making it a versatile option for various conveying conditions.

  • Medium-depth design for balanced performance
  • Compatible with a wide range of elevator speeds
  • Flexible discharge mechanism
  • Suitable for different material characteristics
  • Helps improve overall conveying efficiency

Material Options

Available materials include:

  • HDPE – lightweight, cost-effective, suitable for general applications
  • Nylon – higher strength and wear resistance
  • PU (Polyurethane) – excellent impact resistance and longer service life

Different materials can be selected based on working conditions such as abrasion, temperature, and impact requirements.

Applications

M type elevator buckets are suitable for:

  • Grain conveying systems
  • Feed processing plants
  • Bulk material handling systems
  • Agricultural and industrial applications

Use advice

  • Suitable for high-speed centrifugal discharge and light bulk material lifting
  • Below the table, the size is for HDPE material. Because of the differences in the material shrinkage; Nylon and PU elevator bucket size is approximately more than 2%;
  • Recommend (Z-Y)+10% capacity data as your engineering design use.

Performance Advantage

Compared with deep bottom buckets, M type elevator buckets can operate across a wider range of linear speeds, providing greater flexibility in system design. This can help improve overall production efficiency and output in suitable applications.

Engineering Considerations

The performance of a bucket elevator depends on multiple factors, including:

  • Elevator running speed
  • Bucket spacing
  • Head pulley diameter
  • Material characteristics

Different system designs may require different bucket types, and selection should be based on comprehensive evaluation.

M Type vs Other Elevator Buckets

Compared with other bucket types, we offer a complete range of elevator buckets for different capacity requirements and system standards. We offer both inch size and metric size bucket types to match different system standards:

  • D type – deep bottom bucket in inch size, recommended for high-capacity conveying and heavy-duty applications
  • S type – shallow bottom bucket in inch size, suitable for light bulk materials and stable, gentle conveying
  • DS type – deep bottom bucket in metric size, suitable for high-capacity conveying in metric system installations
  • M type – medium-capacity bucket in metric size, ideal for balanced conveying where both capacity and discharge control are required
  • DQ type – shallow bottom bucket in metric size, suitable for lower capacity and more controlled discharge applications
