What Is Impact Bar
Impact bar is installed at conveyor loading and transfer points to replace traditional cushion rollers.
It is designed to absorb high-impact loading from falling materials while supporting the conveyor belt, ensuring stable operation and reducing damage to the belt system.
Structure of Impact Bar
The impact bar consists of three main components:
- UHMWPE top layer – provides a low friction surface to reduce belt wear
- High-elastic rubber layer – absorbs impact energy and protects the belt
- Metal frame (steel or aluminium) – ensures structural strength and easy installation
We use a heat vulcanization process to bond the UHMWPE layer, ensuring strong adhesion and long service life.
Key Features of Impact Bar
- Evenly distributes impact force under the conveyor belt
- High-elastic rubber absorbs maximum impact energy
- Significantly reduces belt damage at loading points
- UHMWPE surface offers extremely low friction coefficient
- Reduces heat generation and extends belt service life
- Minimizes material spillage and scattering
- T-slot metal frame allows flexible T-bolt installation
- Improves overall conveyor efficiency and reduces maintenance costs
Applications of Impact Bar
Impact bars are widely used in conveyor systems at:
- Loading points
- Transfer points
- Heavy material drop zones
They are suitable for industries such as:
- Mining
- Cement
- Bulk material handling
- Ports and terminals
Advantages Compared with Impact Rollers
Compared with traditional impact rollers, impact bars provide:
- Better energy absorption performance
- Continuous belt support (no gaps between rollers)
- Reduced belt vibration and wear
- Lower maintenance requirements
- Improved system reliability
FRAS Standard for Underground Applications
Our impact bars are available in FRAS (Fire Resistant and Anti-Static) type, suitable for underground and hazardous environments.
They comply with international standards, including:
- MDG3608
- AS1334.10
- MT 113-1995
Installation and Customization
- Standard sizes are available for common conveyor systems
- Custom sizes can be manufactured based on project requirements
- T-bolt installation system allows easy and secure mounting along the full length of the bar

FAQ – Impact Bar
What is an impact bar?
An impact bar is a conveyor support component installed at loading and transfer points to replace traditional impact rollers. It is designed to absorb impact force from falling materials while supporting the conveyor belt.
What are impact bars used for?
Impact bars are used at conveyor loading zones, transfer points, and heavy material drop areas. They help protect the conveyor belt from damage caused by impact and reduce wear during material transfer.
What is the structure of an impact bar?
An impact bar typically consists of three layers: a UHMWPE top surface for low friction, a high-elastic rubber cushion for shock absorption, and a steel or aluminum frame for structural support and installation.
What are the advantages of using an impact bar?
Impact bars provide high impact absorption, reduce belt wear, improve conveyor stability, minimize material spillage, and extend conveyor belt service life compared with traditional impact rollers.
What industries use impact bars?
Impact bars are widely used in mining, cement plants, ports, bulk material handling systems, grain processing, and other industries where conveyors experience heavy loading conditions.
What is the difference between an impact bar and an impact roller?
Impact bars provide continuous belt support without gaps, while impact rollers support the belt at separated points. Impact bars offer better energy absorption, reduced belt vibration, and lower maintenance requirements.
Are impact bars available in different sizes?
Yes, impact bars are available in standard lengths such as 1200 mm, 1400 mm, 1524 mm, 1600 mm, and 1800 mm.
