◆Characteristics of bucket elevator
Bucket elevator is used to convey powder, granule and small block materials when vertical or inclined (above 70°). The advantages of the bucket elevator: the small size on the cross-section can make the conveying system compact; the lifting height is large; it has good compactness, etc. Disadvantages: high sensitivity to overload; hoppers and traction components are easily damaged. The bucket elevator is shown in Figure 1-1.
◆Selection of main components of bucket elevator
Bucket belt: the traction part between the bucket elevator head and tail wheel.
Length selection: Choose the appropriate length according to the lifting height of the hoist, generally loosen the fixed part of the tail wheel and lift it to the highest position (to minimize the distance between the two wheels), and measure the length.
Bucket belt length=2*(centre distance between head and tail wheel) + head wheel diameter
Width selection: Choose a suitable width according to the length and width of a single bucket of the hoist,
Bucket belt width:=single bucket width-2*(25-30mm)
Bucket belt model selection: Choose the appropriate bucket belt model according to the lifting height, the diameter of the head and tail wheels, the material characteristics and the increased output. Generally need to go through detailed calculations.
Bucket: the parts of the bucket elevator loading materials. Selection of bucket length and width: Choose the appropriate size according to the size of the bucket and bucket belt size. As shown below
Bucket mounting screws: fasteners between the bucket belt and the bucket.
Selection of bucket screw length: choose the appropriate length according to the thickness of the bucket belt and the thickness of the bucket.
Screw length: = thickness of bucket belt + thickness of bucket + thickness of drum (flat) gasket + thickness of spring washer + thickness of hexagonal nut + 3mm.
Selection of bucket screw model: Choose the appropriate bucket screw type and size according to the material of the bucket and the weight of the material lifted by a single bucket.
Lifting belt connector: the head and tail of the bucket belt are connected with fasteners.
Connector type selection: select the appropriate connector type according to the tensile strength of the bucket belt
Generally need to choose the connector model according to the bucket belt model.
