Description
This is the third time we produced the screws for this New Zealand customer. The first and second times are a thickness of 50mm, they’re very satisfied with our quality and service.
Here they want a thinner one, thickness of 40mm, with the same outside diameter of 1.2mm. We made this product on their drawing.
Production Process
The spiral blades of this screw conveyor are spiral bodies with conical inner and outer diameters. Of all spiral flights, this is the most difficult to produce.
To make a spiral propeller, there are four elements. Outside diameter, inside diameter, pitch and plate thickness. All four factors are outside the normal range.
Both the outer and inner diameters vary conically. They all went from large to small sizes. The maximum outer diameter is 1.2 meters and the minimum is 430 mm. These changes make it difficult to ensure the concentricity of the spiral.
This screw conveyor propeller order is a trial order, with only one propeller. But with the production experience of the first two orders, we successfully produced it in one go.
Material
The material of this screw flight in this case is carbon steel.
We also have stainless steel, low alloy steel, wear-resistant steel etc., for different demands.
Tooling
We made our own toolings to ensure that the concentricity of the product is on the same circle, and completed the welding based on this, which greatly ensured the accuracy of the product.
