General description of drag chain conveyor
Drag Chain conveyors, also called En Masse Conveyors, are suitable for the movement of bulk materials when the product is required to be contained, and have the requirement of no contamination of the environment.
The chain conveyors are manufactured to work horizontally, inclined, or vertically. They fulfill the functions of an elevator in the latter case.
Depending on the capacity and requirements of the en masse conveyor, they can be single-chain strands, double-chain strands, or more-chain strands.
It adopts high-strength materials for the internal lining with steels of the hardness of 400 to 600 Brinell. The drag chain flight is made by the material of UHMW PE. They are in different thicknesses.

Drive head
The Drive Head is a fundamental part of the chain scraper drag conveyor. It is the sector where the power of the drive unit is transmitted. The sprocket used is commonly made of SAE4140 heat-treated steel or equivalent. It is supported at their ends in boxes.
The sprocket could be a whole unit, and also could be split to facilitate replacement without the need to disassemble the complete axis of the head.
